My name is Maxx Lee (they/he) — the artist, stylist, and photographer behind Maxx Lee Studio. From a young age, I’ve carried a deep passion for the arts and the way creativity allows us to express who we are. Creating has never been just something I do — it’s how I communicate with the world. Whether shaping hair, designing color, or capturing emotion through photography, my work is grounded in self-expression, healing, and connection. I grew up surrounded by creativity in unexpected places. My dad, an exterminator with a love for drawing, taught me that artistry can exist anywhere — that inspiration often lives in the everyday. After graduating from the Aveda Institute of Arts and Sciences in SoHo, I began my career in a luxury Brooklyn salon, where I learned the value of precision, personalization, and detail. But more importantly, I discovered the kind of environment I wanted to create — one that values authenticity, creativity, and care over speed and volume. That vision became MaxxLeeStudio: a calm, creative space built on connection and individuality. I want every person who sits in my chair to feel comfortable, seen, and celebrated for exactly who they are. To me, hair and photography are both living art forms — each a reflection of identity, emotion, and transformation. I also believe that creativity and lifestyle should never come at the cost of our planet — sustainability is woven into every choice I make. Above all, my purpose is to make people feel beautiful, understood, and inspired through art that isn’t just seen, but felt.

Cancellation Policy
to protect my time and artistry, a 40% fee of the scheduled service will be charged for cancellations made within 48 hours of your appointment. if you choose to reschedule on the same day as your cancellation, the fee will be waived. however, if you cancel without rescheduling, the 40% fee will still apply. this policy helps me honor the time and energy that goes into every appointment and ensures fairness for all clients.
